2018 ACUCA Biennial Conference and General Assembly
Christian University of Thailand, Nakhon Pathom, Thailand
October 11 - 14, 2018
Conference theme: “The Internet’s Impact on Identity and Character Development of Students in Asian Christian Higher Education: Issues and Solutions”
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The ACUCA Biennial Conference and General Assembly is an excellent opportunity for member institutions to meet, greet, and network with colleagues who wouldn’t normally cross paths. There are currently 62 member institutions from eight countries, including India, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and the Philippines. The ACUCA Secretariat, currently located at Payap University in Chiang Mai, Thailand, is delighted to present the 2018 ACUCA Biennial Conference and General Assembly to be held at a fellow ACUCU member institution, Christian University of Thailand (CUT). CUT is located in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand, roughly an hour drive from the nation’s capital of Bangkok. The theme for this year’s conference is “The Internet’s Impact on Identity and Character Development of Students in Asian Christian Higher Education: Issues and Solutions.”
Previous conferences have been excellent platforms for debate and discussion on areas of interest. We expect this year’s theme to engage conference attendees from both an academic and personal perspective. The Keynote speaker for this year’s conference is Dr. Jim Wilder. For decades, Dr. Wilder has been delving into biblical scripture, spiritual formation and brain science. These studies led to development of a unique model of spiritual and psychological maturation. This model was defined in the book “The Life Model: Living from the Heart Jesus Gave You” and has been practiced at The Shepherd’s House Counseling Center in Pasadena, California (now Life Model Works) and is currently being taught in churches, marriage seminars and recovery programs around the world. Dr. Wilder holds a B.A. in Psychology at Bemidji State University, an M.A. in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Fuller Graduate School of Psychology. He and his wife Kitty have been married for over forty years, and have several children and grandchildren.
We hope that ACUCA members will attend and participate fully in the 2018 ACUCA Biennial Conference and General Assembly.
