The ACUCA Management Conference 2017

Payap University, Chiang Mai, Thailand

CALL FOR PAPERS

Background

The ACUCA Management Conference is a biennial event that brings together representatives of ACUCA member institutions for a more comprehensive discussion of a single theme. For this year, the theme of the conference is “Exploring the Relationship of Religion, Culture, and Peace in Christian Higher Education.” The conference will take place on the campus of Payap University, Chiang Mai, Thailand, during the period 19-21 October, 2017.

Previous conferences have been excellent platforms for debate and discussion on areas of interest. Often times, they are topics that have emerged from the General Assembly. We expect this year’s theme to engage conference attendees from both an academic and personal perspective.

Call for Papers

In order to provide a more insightful and robust discussion of issues related to the theme of this year’s Management Conference, we invite participants to submit research and/or reflection papers related to the conference theme of exploring the relationship of religion, culture, and peace in Christian higher education. Papers will not be peer-reviewed, but proceedings of the conference will be published and the proceedings will have an ISBN number.

The first presentation session will focus on faith, culture, and peacebuilding. Papers can include research and/or reflection on these topics from a variety of academic perspectives including:

  • Teaching and research
  • Academic service to local communities
  • Student development and traditional culture nurturing activities

The second presentation session will focus on the role of Christian educators in multi-religious societies. Papers can include research and/or reflection on this topic from a variety of academic perspectives including:
